Quirky apartment in the south end of old town

The host is a lovely man who went out of his way for us. He helped us get to and from the taxi with cases with his moped, as it's a bit of a walk over cobbles to get outside the city walls to a taxi.
The property is actually 2 apartments, one downstairs with a full kitchen but no outside part, one upstairs where we stayed with a space to sit outside the door with a table and two chairs and an awning which was very nice. There's a sink outside for dishes.
The upstairs apartment is reached via outside spiral staircase so it's probably not suitable if you have any mobility issues and should book the downstairs one.
There's 2 bedrooms upstairs, both with good aircon. The bathroom is reached through the second bedroom so maybe better for children. Good firm mattress.
There's a roof terrace with great views which is shared with both apartments which is reached via a metal staircase. There's 2 tables and 3 chairs up there so it could maybe do with a few more seats. I was initially worried about the lack of lighting on the stairs and roof for night time but as we were asked not to be up there at night (neighbours would complain) it turned out not to be a problem.
The area is great, there's a truly wonderful coffee shop and a mini market just around the corner which opens until 11pm. Lots of great restaurants nearby also.

Quaint

quaint apartment with outdoor sink, double bed creaks every time you move , no kitchen to speak of, roof terrace great views but needs attention, walkable everywhere in old town so location makes up for shortcomings

Great location

This is a great location near to the town and the owner is lovely. However the rooms and furniture are a bit tired. The apartment has two bedrooms but the bathroom is attached to one bedroom not in the middle. You can walk round outside to get to the bathroom instead of going through the other bedroom. The kitchen area is sparse with a two ring electric stove that needs to be taken out of the cupboard. There is no sink inside the property it is outside and it only has a cold tap. There is a roof terrace but the sun beds need replacing as soon the chairs in the kitchen area.

Ioannis and Eleni: best hosts

I stayed for 3 nights at Emerald Dream House
1) Big one bedroom flat with lots of character
2) Full kitchen with oven, microwave, heating plates, kettle, tea, coffee, salt, sugar
3) Shampoo, shower gel, towels, all you need
Ioannis and Eleni are friendly, kind and honest. They will make your stay very enjoyable from check in to check out.
4) Quiet location in the old town
I highly recommend!
