I came into Roanoke for one night as I prepared to resume a thru hike of the Appalachian Trail. Frankly, I chose the hotel because of its proximity to the railroad station. I was, however, pleasantly surprised and impressed with the quality of The Liberty Trust.

Parking is a slight hassle but well handled. Spacious rooms. Nice vibe. Restaurant downstairs surprisingly good/reasonable. Good selection of wines by glass, although was surprised/disappointed only one Virginian option.

Nice property with a couple of problems that would stop me from staying again. The pull down shades (room 409) did not cover the window. At 6am our room was as bright as day. I got in late and wanted to sleep in and found it impossible with the brightness of the room. The other issue is that the parking ($8 day) is a block away and on the fourth floor of a garage that does not have a functioning elevator (sign said they’d be under repair for 12 weeks).

I really liked the look of the hotel and the location is great. The staff is also very friendly. But improvement can be made. We arrived early and checked our bags in but our room was not ready yet. So we arrived back at 4pm and it was still not quite ready, but was soon after. When we got to our room we found the previous occupants' bag of garbage on the floor behind the bathroom door...no worries. One of the bathroom towels was showing wear and even had a hole in it, not a small one. The restaurant ovens were not working that night so they weren't able to cook any food, but they have a full bar and the cheesecake is decent enough. Enjoyed a wonderful outdoor concert about a block away so had a wonderful stay experience overall.

Beautiful restored bank turned botique hotel. Super cute! Rooms were beautifully restored and loved the old fashioned styles! Great location by tons of bars and restaurants. Easy walk to the train station, too!
