Would stay again even with all the changes, just may not be my first option.
In the past you would always get a warm greeting and even a hug from Sue and Dave. Place was always so warm and welcoming. Things have changed since it was sold and now it's lacking warmth. When you walk in, there are not all the warm and cozy signs, you aren’t greeted with a “welcome back”. It is run more like a hotel. The office door is closed and if you arrive early, you will not be able to check in before 3.
There used to always be wine, beer, water and soda in the refrigerator, along with a nice selection of coffee and tea on the counter, so throughout the day you could get a beverage, this is not offered any more. They still put out cookies in the evening and they do a wine and cheese thing around 4.
When they built the captain Clark house, they included a really nice breakfast area that is not used, now you have to go over to the main house for breakfast. Well, they have two kitchens along with seating in each building for breakfast, all the breakfast is now served in the main house, which wouldn’t be a problem if they had enough sitting.
On our first day the dining area was full, and we had to sit and wait for an open table. When one did open up it was a table for 4, so instead of having another couple wait we told them they could join us. We enjoyed sitting with them and chatting and had breakfast with them the next morning. Other thing that was surprising, is this time there were also kids staying at the B&B, with their parents or grandparents, which I believe is another reason why we had to wait for a table.
The breakfast menu is a standard menu, no more muffins or some kind of bakery item on the table. There used to always be a breakfast special to choose from, like “pecan French toast”, some kind of quiche, this no longer done.
I miss the desk in the common area with all the daily itineraries that Dave had put together for anyone that was looking to do a day trip. All the special warm friendly touches are missing now. They also have a very strict cancellation policy so be sure to read it.
I realize things change over time however, all these changes have taken away from the true charm and the "come as strangers leave as friends" feeling. All these little things made the Inn at Harbor Hill special.
Even with all the changes, we will probably stay again in the future just won’t be my first option.

Loved this Place
That room was very big, King size bed, fireplace, deck, but partial Boat yard and Bay View.. In that building on the first floor, there is a nice meeting room/dining room (no service or anything) but an area for you to gather, and play games or cards. they have glassware, ice, if you had your own wine or drinks. Rooms do not have phones or mini fridge. Room three had no closet or dresser, but cubbies, which were enough. Didn't see any iron, maybe could request. Staff was very nice and helpful. The loaction is great. Short walk to the Boardwalk (nothing special), and pwalking distance to a number of good restaurants. highly recommend The Black Sheep. It a big Old fashion Pub, the food was great. Smoked Short Rib Nachos, Fish and Chips, Pickle Chicken wrap, even the Meatloaf, fries and green beans. Good size drinks, not over priced $10-$11. Just three miles aawy we had great homemade pasta at Pomod oro Restaurant. Pastas were great, Fruite mare, The beet Salad was delicious and enough for at least 2 persons, as was theWedge Salad.
Graet little unknown area, it rained the whole time we were there, so didn't get to sit at outdoor bars, which looked like they must be great

The Inn at Port Niantic
Beyond the dysfunctional greeting, the grounds are very well maintained and the location is ideal. The property consists of two guest houses at the end of a dead end road that abuts the Port Niantic. Plenty of boats and nautical sights. We were given a tour of the property and provided with the common amenities that are available to all guests. This includes a refrigerator in the common room.
A made to order breakfast is available in a small dining area that consists of 5 tables for 16 guest rooms. The kitchen staff is very accommodating. Arrive early, or you may not have access to a table. Room service delivery is also available.
While the general staff is very friendly and helpful, the overall property lacked a sense of community. This was evident by the lack of participation by staff and guests at the daily evening wine reception.

It has the best plumbing of any hotel I’ve ever seen - great shower and bathroom utilities.
We asked for housekeeping and didn’t get it (housekeeping should be automatic in hotel stays, it seems like it always was until the last few years when all the hotel managers started slacking off - stop doing that). It would also be higher value if the rooms included a refrigerator so you didn’t have to use the common one. There is no hotel stay that isn’t improved by a refrigerator and a microwave.
Also, my wife is 4’11” and can’t get up on the bed without a boost, so making a step stool available would also be helpful.

Fabulous, elegant inn--except for Bigfoot
One drawback: Either the ceiling in our room was very thin or Bigfoot occupied the room overhead, because every step the guest took was very, very loud. And he/she/it walked a lot, sometimes until 1:00 a.m. It disrupted my sleep, but didn't bother my husband, who could sleep during an alien invasion.
