Does health inspection not come here?!?!

Our stay at Baymont on August 18, 2024, was an incredibly disappointing experience. Within just an hour of checking in, we discovered bed bugs, which was both disgusting and deeply unsettling. As a result, we immediately left the hotel, as staying under such conditions was simply not an option. The only positive aspect of our visit was the balcony, where we took a photo of our bikes. However, given the serious cleanliness issue we encountered, we would never recommend staying here.

Their computer system was down, so they put me in a room without any record of me being checked in to that room. When I returned to the room the next day my clothes and personal belongings had been thrown away and the room was being reset by housekeeping for another guest. I took my belongings out of the trash and left.
The hotel is still arguing about issuing a refund. Additionally, the room i was given isn’t the room I booked. Completely different from the photos, and also was quite dirty. Compare this photo with the listing photo.
I would have left at check in if it wasn’t always the middle of the night. The woman working had to grab multiple key cards to find a room for me that was empty since their system wasn’t working and she couldn’t confirm via the computer whether a room was available. She walked to the floor with me to check which room I could stay in. I was so afraid someone would enter my room during the night because they didn’t have a way to formally check me into the room I was staying in. My experience the next day confirmed this was possible. As a woman traveling alone this is a huge safety issue.

Check-in took forever. New girl who started was nice but very frazzled. Hotel management did not keep copying paper stocked so she couldn't do her job sufficiently (not her fault). Heard someone say something about the water. A few hours later there was no hot water for a shower. Front desk said it was the cities fault. I inquired why we weren't informed there was a problem when we arrived. They said sorry but it wasn't their fault. I asked if they would be compensating us or reimbursing us for the inconvenience and currently no response to that question. I will be contacting corporate myself. As far as I know the city may provide the water but the hotel should have the adequate systems in place to heat the water. Out of the 3 or 4 other times we've stayed here this stay was not acceptable under any standards of hospitality.

Computer system old - couldn’t print receipt. Room reserved not available - under construction and got room that was only available. Light in room nonfunctional, toilet seat loose. Wasn’t able to get a printout receipt because they had no paper. Couldn’t find copy license I gave the day before.

They have bed bugs and when I showed them the house keeper told me it was a stink bug. Everything was still dirty and had hair in the shower. Mold in the bathroom in the ceiling. There were homeless people sleeping where the ice machine is so we couldn’t get ice.
