Good for family, but need improvement on cleanliness
Here is our experience:
- Overall: 7 out of 10. We enjoyed our stay in general, but will probably try other places due to some of the things that needed improvement (see below).
- Suite Space: It's enough for our family of 4. We were lucky to get the pool-facing balcony and the kids loved it.
- Overall cleanliness: Needs improvement. Yes, someone did clean the suite, but it wasn't deeply cleaned. You can see spots here and there. For example, there were some stains on the wall, spots in the sink, dusts in the corner, and other items mentioned below.
- Room & Beds: Sofa Bed was fine. It didn't look very clean, but clean bedsheets were provided to cover it up. I thought the bed in bedroom was fine, but my wife said it was old and she had some allergic reactions (she has very sensitive skins).
- Pack n play: Upon request, they gave us a pack n play for our toddler for free. It's a really nice one, but there were some food debris (like cereal) underneath the pad.
- Kitchen: It's small, but it has what we needed; a fridge, microwave, stove, cooking ware, silverware, etc. It's enough to make easy meals and heating up leftovers. This was very helpful for family with little kids like ours. They also have a coffee maker, coffee, creamer, sponge, and dish detergent. The only things that I wish they had but didn't were cooking oil and salt.
- Bathrooms: We had 2 bathrooms. The smaller one has a sink, a toilet, and shower. The bigger one has two sinks, a toilet and a pretty big bath tub. My kids and I had a great time taking bubble baths in the tub after swimming.
- Laundry room: I didn't notice the washer and dryer during my first stay. While reading other reviews, It seems like this is probably not available in all of the floors? This time, I brought my own detergent and planned to hand-wash my clothes and hang them on the balcony chair, but then I saw the washer and dryer as I was getting ice. They are Samsung brand, machines look pretty clean, and they function normally.
- Pool: Nice pool, as shown in their pictures. Both kids enjoyed it very much. My 5-yr old (about 45 inches tall) was allowed to use the waterslide. They closed out some sections of the pool when there were less people. The hours are 8am-8pm when we visited in August. Not sure if it's different during winter.
- Gym: It's small, but equipment look new and clean. I've used their gym about 4 times, and there were 2 times that I saw a staff coming in to clean.
- Game Room: It's listed in their amenities, but I actually wasn't sure if this was it. There's a small room by the gym that has a robot ice cream machine and a broken air hocky table. The AC also wasn't turned on when I visited in the morning.
- Food (Caribe lounge): When we visited in 2022, I remember the food was great and price was fair. This time, we visited only once, and the food wasn't as good as I remembered, and I thought it was kind of pricy. It took them about 20 minutes to prepare our mac & cheese and fish & chips. Maybe we just went at a bad time. Happy hour is 3-4pm and the deals are not that great.
- Hotel Price: I think the price is fair comparing to other resorts in the area. With this price, I don't expect everything to be perfect (though I do hope the cleanliness could be a little better). The nearby Tahiti Village has similar (or better) amenities, but for some reason it was almost twice as expensive during the week we're visiting Las Vegas.
- Resort fees: It averaged out to about $40/night during our stay this time. Yes, it is annoying, but I believe most other places are charging resort fees like this place is (as far as I know). It's like when you rent an apartment, you'd expect paying additional $100-200 for utilities and other things. You just need to include it in your budget when you book hotels in Las Vegas.
- Timeshare talk: Ignored it both times. I've heard bad experience about it and it's not worth the time for those free tickets they offer.
- Service: Michael at Check-in was very nice. During our stay, we were able to text house keeping to request items like TP or trash bags, but we had to follow up the second day as they didn't show up. I think the policy is that they don't come in to change your bedsheet unless you stay for more than 5 nights, but you can request such services when needed.
- Guest policy: We were told that we can't bring any guests. This was slightly inconvenient as we were meeting with a friend, but I can understand. If each group brings a guest to the pool or restaurant, it would be way too crowded.
- Security at gate: During our 2022 visit, there was no security at the gate. This time, upon arrival, a security at the entry asked if we were checking in and he let us in. For re-entry, just show security the parking slip. There were two occasions during our stay, both at night time, that a security was not present and the gate was open.
- Parking: Spaces are very limited in the structure. There were times that we had to park far and walk.
- Summary: We had a great time with our kids for a very affordable price here. The main reasons we decided to return to this place was due to pricing, big pool with water slide, the big tub, and the kitchen. If you cannot tolerate the cleanliness issues, this is probably not the place for you. To clarify, I wouldn't say the place is dirty (at least to my standard). It's more like someone maybe spent two hours to clean their apartment before guests come, rather than having a cleaning crew come in and clean every corner and tiny detail. However, you do get what you paid for. I'm sure there are places with a less exciting pool but better quality of rooms at the same price. Overall, I was happy with the price I paid to stay at this place.
