This was my 2nd visit to the Red Horse Inn. I stayed 50 years ago with my Hood College girlfriend for a night of carnal pleasure. 50 years later the Red Horse is showing some signs of wear (as is my wife) but they both exceeded my expectations. The iconic red horse still stands proudly on the roof, a real Frederick landmark. And while i must restrain myself a bit with my geriatric wife, i may have slipped into 'beast mode' and become a bit of a untamed stallion during our frenzied lovemaking. Thank you Red Horse!

Avoid, unacceptable, poor customer service.
Comfort Inn Red Horse, Frederick, MD is terrible. We rented the King Suite. On the first night, we reported that the sink did not drain. Staff looked at it and said just don't run water into it. The bathtub took 20 minutes to drain. On three nights we had no hot water. We reported this twice and were told the maintenance man was not available. On the second night the desk clerk offered to let my wife go to an empty room to shower, which she declined. I left a message for the Manager to call me/ he/she did not. The room was generally run down and damaged . Black marker scribbling on wall and curtains, cracked, jagged tile around the jacuzzi, door threshold is broken loose, carpet with hole warn in it in at the door. The suite was advertised and pictured with a sitting area, with a couch and an upholstered chair and jacuzzi. There was no upholstered chair, only a couch rolling desk chair and the jacuzzi did not work. Though paid for and reported to the staff along with the many other shortcomings we were charged the full rate on our reservation.

4/5 I feel is fair. Staff was nice and helpful, but you get what you pay for. Some areas were unclean, such as a stain or two on the chair and foot rest. But other areas were clean such as the bed, fridge, and bathroom. No bugs or pests noticed and convenient area with lots to eat. Second time staying here and haven’t run into any major complications that make me want to stay somewhere else.

First night a small roach scurried across the bathroom floor. Second night our keys didnt work and then our hot water didnt work.
I could not shower , front desk tried to say the water was fine and sometimes itakes awhile

It was a decent hotel, the halls smelled like cannabis, which is funny because they talk about a smoking charge if they think you smoke in your room. The continental breakfast was actually pretty solid. No real complaints except the price of an OK hotel nowadays, but nothing we can do about that.
