Great location close to Acadia

We stayed in the “Manor”, a two bedroom unit. It’s not fancy, but suited our needs perfectly. We were within 30-45 minute drive to all the Acadia hikes we wanted to do. Tennis, pickleball, pool, hot tub were all nice things to do in the evening.

A rather disappointing trip, this time.

We've stayed at Acadia Village for timeshare trades several times, and were always happy no matter which type of accommodation we were assigned. Last week was different, though. Our week began with a missing key, which we were told had gone home with housekeeping staff but it should be back 'tomorrow'. My husband checked in each day, only to be told that no one had located the key. This was a bit disconcerting since we knew there was someone out there who had access to our unit 24/7, or worse if it had been lost and just anyone could get in.
Next, the unit we were assigned appeared to be undergoing renovations...some of which we're sure are needed as the place was beginning to look pretty shabby and there were large dumpsters in and between some of the parking areas. An unfinished floor in the living room, and just wear and tear/lack of good cleaning made it less than what we've been used to at Acadia Village.
The best part of the resort is the location...close to Acadia, Bar Harbor, and reasonable drives to the Schoodic and Blue Hill peninsulas. We had a good deal of snow while we were there, so Acadia National Park was just beautiful, and Schoodic Point was almost deserted on the day we went. We loved having it all to ourselves. :)

Dear MarkD,
Thank you for being a loyal guest and taking the time to share your feedback. We are happy that you find our location convenient for the sights that you like to visit. Please accept my apology for the issue you experienced with the keys. We have since replaced the lock to ensure a proper level of security. The week that you stayed was a messy week with a snowstorm and an HR issue with one of our maintenance team members. This resulted in several projects that had previously been started, falling through the cracks. I am sorry that this negatively impacted your stay. Please know that this is not typical and we are sorry. I hope that you will come back and stay with us again in the future. Sincerely, Paul Sala - General Manager

Poor Winter Yard Maintenance

The day I checked into the unit on 12/21/2024.
I had to clear snow from area where we parked our vehicle and the whole path into the unit with the broom.
On 12/24/24 it snow again in the morning when I return in the afternoon again I had to clear pathway with the units broom. After that I left to go to the store when I came back the maintenance plow person had made a pass where vehicles part and pushed the snow back into the cleared path area. They didn’t even clear the path and left it again.
I went to front desk and they didn’t even have a shovel available to use. They said the Maintenance guy had gone home. So I will be clearing the path out for a third time so I don’t have to wade through the snow. For the amount that we pay for the maintenance fee at this resort you would think they could keep the rented units paths cleared after it snows or even have a snow shovel so the owners/renters could. It’s pretty sad that I am out the clearing the path with a heart condition and recovering from gallbladder surgery 6 days ago.

Dear Passport,
Thank you for taking the time to write a review and for choosing the Acadia Village Resort. I am sorry to hear that we let you down on your recent stay. During your time here, we had an unfortunate HR incident involving one of our maintenance personel that left us short staffed over Christmas. I was out of state for the Holidays and wasn't able to correct the problem. I am very sorry. We've since hired two new maintenance men who are doing a great job and placed multiple shovels in the clubhouse in case they are needed by guests. I hope you will give us another chance the next time you visit the area. Sincerely, Paul Sala - General Manager

We would return to this resort as it was very well located to attractions in the area

Unit # 15 was very clean and appeared to be recently painted. The kitchen was white, modern, with everything needed to cook. It was very clean and well organized as well. The living room had new carpeting and drapes. The furniture, however, is outdated and old , and not very clean, but comfortable. I wouldn’t sit on it but my husband was fine with it.
The master queen bed was very comfortable.
Linings and towels are of good quality as well.
There are 2 full bathrooms and 1 half bath ( that is in the twin bedroom)
The bathroom arrangements are a little strange in that the master bathroom shower is very small.
Twin bedroom has the half bathroom,
Downstairs full bathroom has a nice tub and full size shower. If you want a decent shower, you would have to go to the downstairs bathroom . Shouldn’t the half bath be downstairs and the 2nd full bathroom be in the twin room? Should be reversed.
There is A large Jacuzzi that is separate from both bathrooms on the second floor.
There is a deck off of the first floor to sit outside and enjoy the view of the woods.
Also, there is a large indoor pool and Jacuzzi. There is a playground with slide & swings etc for children to play on.
If you are looking for a modern designer decorated unit with all the bells and whistles of a five star resort, this resort is not for you. If you are looking for a typical Maine villa, that is comfortable and very clean but simple and very “down east”, then this will work for you. I would stay there again, except that I have to have a new couch!!

Great place to stay— convenient to everything!

We got our unit thru Interval and were in townhouse #32. We were very comfortable and the unit was very clean. It is a older resort but kept up very nice. It had a sofa, chair, & a recliner, a coffee table, a table with 5 chairs. The kitchen was well stocked. There is a nice patio with 2 chairs and a table. The condo has the bedrooms upstairs. The master bedroom has a queen bed with a large 2 sink bathroom with a shower. The second bedroom has 2 twin beds with a half bath. There is a full bathroom with a bathtub, shower, and a washer and dryer downstairs. This resort was convenient for all our scenic drives. We did the Blackwoods Byway, Schoodic Byway & Point, the Penobscot Narrow Bridge & Fort Knox, went to 3 wineries for tastings, gambled in Bangor, took the Ol’s Trolley Tour through Acadia National Park which included the summit of Cadillac Mountain, Thunderhole & Jordan’s Pond for $53 each, and we also picked apples at Johnson’s Apple Orchard. We ate lobster every day, and our favorites were Gateway Lunt’s Lobster Pound where the lobster dinner was $19.95. Their blueberry pie and ice cream was the best of our trip. Ruth & Wimpie’s had a lobster dinner for $17.95, and Union River Lobster was $19.95 for the lobster dinner and $30.00 for a lobster roll with 8 Oz of lobster. In our opinion, Union River had the best clam chowder, although we stopped at a little Deli in Bar Harbor and got a bowl to go for $7.95 and it was delicious. too. If we go to Bar Harbor again, we would not drive; parking took over an hour to find a place. We’d take the Island Explorer free bus that would have taken us from Ellsworth to Bar harbor for free. We could have taken it to Acadia National Park, too. We flew from Austin to Portland and drove 2 hours to our condo and stayed Saturday to Saturday, Oct 1-8, 2022. The weather was exceptional— a few cool days and then it warmed up to the 70’s during the day. It was a wonderful trip! Ivy in the office was very, very nice!!!!
