Great location in Rye

Excellent location, host, beautifully presented spotless rooms full of character and style. We stayed 2 nights in one of the larger rooms had space and a dining table! Plenty of refreshments, toiletries and coffee machine was well stocked with pods. Breakfast was great too.

Perfect break

Cannot fault it, we had the loveliest host in Brenda, we really felt welcomed and nothing was too much trouble, this really did exceed our expectations. The building dates back to the early 1500s and is quirky and beautiful in the same way, rooms are to a high standard and all the furnishings are top quality. We were there for 3 nights I just wish it could have been more, this is one of those finds that you want to recommend but feel like you also want to keep it to yourself!!!

Half Term Break

We arrived after a miserable journey in heavy rain to be greeted by the delightful host. We were welcomed through the low front door into a beamed and beautifully furnished sitting/breakfast room. Sadly, due to current restrictions we wouldn’t be having breakfast there but were given tickets to use at the coffee shop opposite. We were shown to our room on the first floor that has the biggest bed I have ever seen with crisp, white sheets and very comfortable mattress. A perfect mix of vintage furniture, 21c technology and personal touches of fresh flowers, filtered water and chilled Prosecco made us feel that extra care had been taken to make our stay feel special. A big bathroom with a full sized bath, a great shower and pristine white towels. Very little traffic on the narrow road, cosy duvet and that mattress made for a great night’s sleep. The next morning we sat by the open window; the heating was excellent, drinking fresh coffee and planning our day.
Despite the wet, cold weather we loved wandering round historic Rye and our stay at The Tea house was perfect due to our friendly and helpful host. We are hoping to return as soon as restrictions are lifted and spend some time in the comfy sitting room and find out about the history of this lovely house.
