Charmed me

Just a one night stay to break the journey. The town is run down but has some wonderful architecture. Parking is paid, secure and only a few minutes walk from the hotel. Don’t just park anywhere or your up for a fine and a tow. Our host Xavier was gracious and we got a very thorough check in, the hotel is small but absolutely gorgeous. Loved the antiques, statues, paintings, lights, tiled floors and stained glass. Such a contrast to the gritty streets outside. We had a top floor room with a little terrace, though close to the railway station and main road we wouldn’t have known it. Stroll around the streets for modernist buildings at sunset to really appreciate this towns history. The beach was super windy, a five minute exhilarating sand blast was enough for us. The tapas place recommended by our host was just around the corner, lovely to eat on the street and people watch. Enjoyable stay even though I ate far too much cheesy tapas and had nightmares. Loved every thing about El Petit Palauet.

Avoid it.

This place smells like super old and falls apart. Problems with electricity, fuses kept blowing. Everything dirty and unmaintained.
The owner Xavier has great painting of himself in the hall. But be careful, if he is disappointed, he will not hesitate to scream on you.

Highly recommended! A place with charm, very quite and close to the beach

We have stayed one weekend at Suite Julia. The room was very spacious, clean and well decorated.
Overall the building is very nice, very well preserved, with lots of furnitures and paintings from the modernism era.
The landlord is very friendly. The apartment is located 2 mins from the center of Canet and 2 mins from the beach but with the advantage that the street is very quiet.

Nice Beach

The area seems that it had its highlights many years ago. Very great Beach but the town seems ‘closed’ for good. The rooms at El Petit Palauet is old and needs refurbishing - the beds are extremly bad, you can feel the springs in your back while trying to sleep. Furthermore it is very noice, both inside the small hotel (due to the concrete stairwell) but also due to plenty of freight-trains in the Night - train is 75 meter som the house).

Very nice!

Very nice bedroom, good host and good location! Would definitely reccommned it! Canet is also quite nice. Breakfast can be ordered but is quite expensive, however there's plenty of cheap cafes very close by.
