Location makes this hotel worth the stay

I stayed in this hotel with a group of friends for a long weekend.
The location of the hotel is great: you are located right next to Bryggen, you are not far away from the Fløibanen and you can easily walk to the harbour to catch a cruise to the fjords.
The rooms are ok size and the beds are comfortable. The shower is good and easy to use.
The breakfast is sufficient and good, however, there are no berries, which is stable in the Nordic kitchen. Some of the hot dishes, such as baked beans, were not warm at all. The coffee is good and the staff are friendly and helpful. We even got a pot of coffee for our table.
The staff at the reception, even though very friendly, were not really upto date with the taxi fares to the airport, we got three different answers from three different people. Also, we were advised that the breakfast starts at 7.30am on Sunday but the actual time is 7am. A half an hour can make a big difference if you are in a hurry to catch a flight. It might be a good idea to go through these basic points with your staff.
All in all we were satisfied with the hotel.

Beware! Room pictured is not the room you get!

Beware! Room shown on booking.com and Radisson site is not the room you get! Paid for superior room with old town view. Room on booking.com shows vaulted ceilings beautiful city view. Was given just an ordinary room with a view of work trucks and a couple of old buildings. Most all pictures on booking.com are pictures of rooms on the fifth floor of which I think there are only 13 of those rooms. Everything else you're gonna get it's gonna be just a normal room. Went on the Radisson hotels site, and it also shows vaulted ceilings for standard superior and superior city views. Completely misleading! That is most likely NOT how your room will look. Checked in exactly at 3 PM check in time as well. Guy at front desk said there was nothing he could do, that that IS a superior room with the old town view. Talked to manager, she said there was nothing she could do either. Showed her the pictures of the room on the web and the picture of the room I took of the room I was given. She said there was nothing she could do. I'm also a Radisson member as well. Furthermore, hallways by many elevators are in disrepair. I travel extensively, you can see my reviews on booking.com. I depend on these sites to help me make choices for rooms and hotels. When the pictures of the hotel rooms you are purchasing or upgrading to are misleading or blatantly not the rooms you will get, that's dishonest. Pick another hotel, or prepare to be disappointed.

Great Location, But Very Disappointing Service and Cleanliness

Just because a hotel has a good location doesn’t mean it offers good service.
Before Easter, my friends and I stayed at the Radisson Blu Bergen. I trusted the brand based on previous experiences at other locations, but unfortunately, this stay was very disappointing — particularly regarding how problems were handled and the cleanliness and maintenance of the room.
On the first night, several electrical appliances in my room, such as the air conditioner and refrigerator, were not functioning properly. When I called reception, I was told this was “normal” and was advised to simply open the window instead… Later, I found that the hairdryer was broken. I called reception several times, but no one answered, so I had to go down to the front desk myself. The staff insisted it was working fine, but it clearly was not in my room. The hairdryer was also extremely dusty and dirty. When I raised this, the front desk told me that “all hairdryers are like that.” Seriously?
Since nothing was done, I had to go down again. Luckily, a new shift of staff was on duty. A new staff member came to my room to inspect the situation and offered to change my room. I was also informed that the hairdryer could only be used at the low heat setting due to an internal hotel policy regarding electricity…
The next day, after housekeeping had cleaned my room, I discovered that the glass on my iPad was cracked. While I believe this was partly my own fault for leaving the iPad in a bag on the floor, I hope the hotel can be more careful when handling guests’ belongings.
My sincere recommendations for the hotel:
1. Please train your staff to respond more professionally. Poor communication and a lack of problem-solving only reflect badly on the hotel.
2. Please be much more careful with guests’ belongings during housekeeping.
Sadly, I cannot recommend this property and I leave this review with much disappointment.

Had a great stay

The hotel location is excellent and close to everything. Very friendly and helpful staff. Room was quite comfortable. Would certainly stay there again and would recommend it to family and friends

Good enough

We stayed three nights. Comfortable hotel and well located. Quiet in the evenings. We had a view of the harbour and the windows to the room opened for fresh air. There was a grocery store across the street. Front desk service was mixed, though on balance competent. Breakfast was very good and the staff there were outstanding. Housekeeping, encountered in the hall, was desperate to not clean our room, and I had to request that this get done. Not sure it was great value for money and would probably stay elsewhere next time. Lots of hotels in central Bergen.
