Terrible experience
I booked a 3-night stay here but was absolutely appalled after just one night. We paid extra for a sea and pool view, but that was never provided. On entering the room, we found the fridge in a disgusting state—filthy, foul-smelling, and crawling with ants.
Basic amenities were missing. We were given only one towel each, and there was no soap or toiletries in the bathroom, despite the property claiming to maintain “high standards.” It was far from that.
Breakfast was another disappointment. I asked for pancakes, which were supposedly part of the included breakfast, and received just one small pancake with honey. When I asked for bananas—despite the owner having banana trees on the property—I was told they would cost extra.
To make matters worse, the air conditioner stopped working during the night, making it nearly impossible to sleep in the heat. And what truly made me leave was waking up to multiple ant bites all over my body. These weren’t normal bites—they caused swelling and serious discomfort, even on my face. This was supposed to be a relaxing holiday, but instead it was stressful and unpleasant.
Also, don’t be misled by the views in the photos. The property is far from everything—you’ll need a car, as even the nearest beach is about 20 minutes away. Nothing is within walking distance.
This is not a comfortable place to sleep, let alone relax. Please take my advice seriously—after a long day in the island heat, you deserve a clean, safe, and restful place to return to. Unfortunately, this was none of those things.

An off the beaten track gem!
Local family, recently built and with beautiful views of the river and towards Sunday Beach (10 minute walk down a steep shortcut)
A most wonderfully hosted accommodation option especially for those who want a quieter part of the island experience.
The roads on this part of the island are pretty poor so would recommend scooters only for experienced riders - I did a lot of walking around the island (I liked the freedom of doing this) as Lembongan is only 8km squared!
For those also walking and not scootering many businesses will do pick up and drop off to the villas!
Mama had lovely food and was absolutely amazing with (on my first night) picking me up at a warung when it got too dark to walk back!
You could not ask for a more caring family - and though it’s away from the more tourist buzz of Mushroom Beach you have small mini marts 5-10min walk down the road and there are ample warungs and spas etc within short walking distance ie 15-20 mins or so.
I was looking for a very authentic and less touristy experience for my holiday and I very much recommend D’Lesung!
Other useful hints
1. They have a filtered water dispenser that gives hot warm and cold water so you can fill bottles or camel packs (like I did) very cheaply - 7000IDR for a large container so I definitely recommend this!
2. Mama Linda does massages and beauty treatments as well - a separate villa is purpose built for this!
3. The villa have a warung as well so you can eat there too. The fish is local so it’s fresh!
4. Villas all have warm water and air con
5. It’s a lesser developed area and power outages do occur daily - but this doesn’t really affect much you if you’re out and about
6. There’s a 4th ATM at the bottom of the hill at Sunday beach but I found it didn’t work (I didn’t see anyone else successfully using it either despite observing many people trying) - apparently it’s brand new but the poor reception makes its communication dodgy.
It’s a trek to the Mushroom Beach side of the island and there is a daily limit of 1 million IDR withdrawal per day per card if you choose to use any of the three ATMs there.
Furthermore the solo ATM closer to the bigger bars and where the fast boat comes in from Bali has had a slimmer issue before.
The two other ATMs are across the road from each other work. The one that is next to Cinta Bar and Grill had no problems at all and I saw both locals and tourists using this. Of course any ATM anywhere in the world should be used with caution. I had no problems.
D’Lesung will make sure you’re well cared for if you’re chasing tours and good deals - I did some snorkelling and paid a very reasonable rate! Ask Papa Linda!
(Linda is the owner - her mama and papa are your awesome hosts - you will likely see Linda from time to time!)
