Unforgettable
For the sixth time I was able to enjoy the hospitality of the Alpenhof Murnau, and as on my previous visits, my expectations were not only met but exceeded. Our three-day stay was characterized by an ambience of warmth, dreamlike hospitality and relaxation.
The Alpenhof impresses with its unique location in the middle of the Murnauer Moos. The view from our room was a daily experience for the senses. The interiors of the house skilfully combine traditional charm with modern comfort, creating an atmosphere of warmth and elegance.
The hospitality at Alpenhof is incomparable. From the first moment we felt welcome and appreciated. The entire team, whether it be the extremely courteous staff at the reception or in the restaurant, operates with a professionalism complemented by warm authenticity.
The cuisine of the Alpenhof is a treat for all the senses. The breakfast buffet impressed with a variety of high-quality, regional products presented with attention to detail. The evening menus were a true symphony of taste, creativity and aesthetics – each dish testified to mastery of craftsmanship and culinary finesse.
The wellness area of the house is an oasis of peace and regeneration. Especially the two heated outdoor pools with panoramic mountain views as well as the tastefully designed sauna landscape impressed us deeply. There is hardly a better place to start your day relaxed or to rebalance your body and mind after an active day in nature.
The Alpenhof is not just a hotel, but a place where you truly feel at home. The perfect symbiosis of first-class service, excellent cuisine, a soothing ambience and the incomparable location makes this house a gem in the Alps. I would like to thank the entire team for unforgettable days and look forward to returning soon.

Great hotel in great surroundings
We used the murky time at the end of January for a wellness stay. We liked the house, the spa and the food very much. We found the salad buffet in the evening great unlike some reviewers here. Service and friendliness were great. Keep it up!

Short break in the Alpenhof
We travel a lot and like to be in upscale hotels. The Werdenfelser Land is well known to us and wonderful for a short holiday. What did we notice compared to other 4-5 star hotels. Let’s start: the flower arrangement in the reception hall is simply impressively beautiful. Fantastic. The reception is friendly and nicely designed. The rooms, however, are a little old, as is the whole hotel. When eating, the meat quality should be emphasized very positively. Great. What the kitchen absolutely cannot do: Desserts and soups. Soups get a school grade of 5! What is striking is that I got the same sauce with the meat 3 times. Beef, lamb or pork. You can't do that. Vegetables are hampered with quality. The fish planterl on red cabbage - well - the herb was dry with my wife and without taste. This applies to the vegetables in general that should sharpen the cuisine here. Unfortunately, the star chef is no longer in the house. Potatoes from the steamer were dry and gave the tired impression of having been cooked before. There's still a lot going up there. Service is friendly, even if on the first day we needed sensational 2 hours on the 2-course meal and my wife's course was wrongly delivered. Good - can happen sometime. Was quickly corrected. The reason for the "weak" dinner quality may be that in the sour cucumber season, the hotel, which is perfectly legitimate, has major events in the form of seminars, which in our opinion is at the expense of hotel guests. What is absolutely annoying is the allocation of tables in the morning and evening. It's not like you're assigned a table on arrival, no, at any time the same procedure. Wait, room number, table assignment. We've never seen it like this in any other hotel. Let's get to the wellness area: Fitness equipment is new and top. But 2x leg, once lat pull and 4 cardio machines and dumbbells and three Petzi balls, a somewhat funny compilation. Unfortunately, all this is done in a pathetic, sad, small area, without music, television and a radio hole without internet access. Yeah, there's a repeater in the can. We had complained about the radio hole at the reception, but obviously there was no technical solution for the Internet at short notice. For this there were large towels, which were completely missing in the wellnee area near the saunas. No cosmetics at the saunas to soap, water from the showers moderate, everything seemed a little loveless and it was uncomfortable cold, as was the swimming pool. After the sauna there to rest and enjoy, unfortunately not recommended. We did not visit the outdoor area and therefore cannot make a statement. Too bad - the house has potential if you would use it properly. Here we recommend to take a look at the competition without naming hotels, e.g. at the Achensee, near Mittenwald, in the Leutasch Valley, Bavarian Forest or to South Tyrol. For the same money or maybe a little more, there are excellent hotels there. All in all, it was still worth a trip, however, in our view the house does not deserve the rating it received recently. Since the Alpenhof has a unique selling point in the area, you have to be careful not to waste the opportunities. We are happy to come back to the area and are already looking forward to great hikes, bike tours. Mittenwald, Garmisch, Oberammergau - the whole area is just wonderful.

Would love to come back
We were greeted very friendly and accommodating, the luggage brought to the room and all facilities explained. The room was very clean, pleasantly generous and the beds were very comfortable. The food was fresh, with great choice and tasted excellent. The staff was always courteous, helpful and friendly.
