Nice hotel in a good location, friendly staff

The hotel is in a busy location close to many sites within a walking distance of short cab ride. The decor was quirky and interesting and my room was a reasonable size with a good sized bathroom with places to put my toiletries. The room was clean and up to date. A little tricky figuring out the temperature control, but my room was a fine temperature. The room looked out onto the street which was a noisy corner. With the windows open, the most noise came from police car and ambulance sirens. With the windows closed the noise was minimized and don't bother me. The small breakfast menu was adequate and tasty, however, the service could be slow at certain times when it was busy. I like the back outdoor patio for hanging out and the staff were always friendly and accommodating. I would stay here again and recommend it to anyone visiting Berlin.

I Loved It!

I spent four wonderful days in Berlin during the middle of the June 2026 heatwave, and I'm delighted that I chose The Circus Hotel as my base.
Getting there from Berlin Brandenburg Airport couldn't have been easier by train and U-Bahn. In fact, one of the hotel's biggest advantages became apparent the moment I arrived—the street-level exit from Rosenthaler Platz U-Bahn station is practically on its doorstep. After a day of traveling, that was a very welcome sight!
My first impression was excellent thanks to the friendly gentleman who checked me in—I believe his name was Denis. He was warm, welcoming, and genuinely helpful. Throughout my stay, I encountered many different members of staff, and every single one was courteous, professional, and happy to assist. Great customer service really does make a difference, and the team here should be proud of themselves.
My single room on the second floor, conveniently located near the lift, was exactly what I needed. It was spotlessly clean, thoughtfully furnished, and overlooked the peaceful garden at the back of the hotel, making it a lovely place to unwind after a busy day exploring Berlin.
One thing worth mentioning is that my visit coincided with one of the hottest spells of the year. The hotel doesn't have air conditioning, which initially made me a little nervous. Fortunately, the room stayed surprisingly comfortable. I had brought along a small portable fan for a bit of extra air circulation, but I was pleasantly surprised by how well the room coped with the heat. And after a long day of sightseeing, the wonderfully cold shower was an absolute lifesaver—although if you're feeling brave, there's plenty of hot water too!
The location is another major highlight. It made exploring Berlin incredibly easy. I could head out in the morning, return to the hotel for an afternoon rest during the hottest part of the day, then head back out in the evening refreshed and ready for more sightseeing. Hackescher Markt, Museum Island, and Berlin Cathedral are all within comfortable walking distance, while excellent public transport puts the rest of the city at your fingertips.
Rosenthaler Platz itself has plenty of cafés, bakeries, restaurants, and takeaway options, along with convenience stores for anything you may have forgotten—or if you simply need to stock up on drinks before another day of sightseeing.
I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at The Circus Hotel. It combines a fantastic location, comfortable rooms, and genuinely exceptional staff, making it an easy hotel to recommend. If I return to Berlin—and I certainly hope I do—I wouldn't hesitate to stay here again.

Super cute hotel. Would recommend as long as there isn’t a heat wave.

This was a super cute hotel located in a renovated building from the 1800s. Very close to public transportation which is easy to use in Berlin. Also close to a variety of restaurants. The hotel provides some interesting events for guest. Though we didn’t have time for it, there was a walking tour of the hidden courtyards in the area. Friends, who recommended the hotel, heard a former east Berliner speak about her life under communist rule.
The room was clean and nicely laid out with a large bath and shower. Though we were there before the heat wave the room did get somewhat hot as there was a sustainable AC system. It might work well during most of the summer but I felt the room was too hot.
There is a nice restaurant for breakfast and a courtyard. It rained on and off during some of our stay so we couldn’t use the courtyard unfortunately. For Berlin, reasonably priced. Would definitely return if in Berlin again.

Excellent private room with a view

We had a balcony private room with bathroom on the 5th floor it was amazing for price, with views across Berlin. Breakfast kept us full for the day but a bit tight on the coffee. Nice vibe great location for all transport. Local bars and food great.

Great hostel! Highly recommended!

Amazing hostel that I highly recommend. I've been there for 6 nights as a solo traveler in a dorm room of 4. The rooms were clean, the other guests were quite and considerate and the overall atmosphere of the place is great. There's a bar that's open every evening and you can usually meet other people there. The location ia perfect - right on the U bahn station. There is some noise from the street at night (mostly from the public transportation) but sleeping with earplugs solved it. Overall I believe this place is a great value for money and I would definitely go there again.
