Stay if you like noise

Location itself has nothing significant nearby. About 20 minutes walk to the national palace of culture or 30 min walk to the Vitosha Boulevard shopping area.
Room of decent size with 2 single beds. Aircon was central set at fan mode, which made room very hot during day. Opened the window but it was very noisy even on 14th floor - there was much partying and people screaming and cars honking. Some of that partying even took place at 3 am in the room and corridors -- my colleague called twice to hotel reception at 3 am but to no avail. So the hotel atmosphere leaves much to be desired.
Room has a fridge, but it gets powered off when you take out the room card -- had to throw 2 bottles of fresh milk after they sat at room temp for a whole day.
Breakfast was the same for all 6 days - scrambled eggs, bacon, 2 types of sausages. Coffee from machine. Various breads and pastries available but all cold. Fruit juice machine of variable performance - on 2 occasions my orange juice separated into 2 parts.
Bathroom of decent size. But shower water pressure for warm water was very low.
Cleanliness in general has room for improvement - carpets and lift were quite dirty.
Only positive at this hotel - there is a decent Japanese restaurant Umami which is located with outside seating in the garden with a pond - can see swans, mandarins, and peacocks.

Lobby bar service

The hotel itself looks impressive, but unfortunately, the service is absolutely unacceptable for a five-star property.
The staff are clearly not up to the standards expected of a hotel of this category. In fact, some of their behaviour was so unprofessional that the management should seriously consider whether these employees are suitable to work in a five-star environment.
When we asked the staff at the lounge bar to rearrange a table, they reacted with obvious irritation and made us feel as though we were an inconvenience simply for making a perfectly reasonable request. This is completely unacceptable in a five-star hotel, where courtesy and professionalism should be the bare minimum.
The following evening, another member of staff was talking to us while smoking and repeatedly blowing cigarette smoke directly into our faces. This is not only extremely rude but totally unacceptable behaviour for hotel staff dealing with guests.
There were six of us, yet only four dishes were served. We had to wait an unreasonable amount of time for the remaining two. We also asked for water and were served boiling-hot water instead. These are basic elements of service that should never go wrong in a five-star hotel.
The contrast between the impressive appearance of the hotel and the appalling level of service is astonishing.
Quite frankly, this was not five-star service, not even close. The attitude, professionalism and basic level of customer care were more appropriate for a zero-star establishment. If the management genuinely wants to maintain a five-star reputation, the staff's attitude and level of service need to be completely overhauled.

Advance payment

Payment for the stay was requested in advance. At the reception there were two girls who asked for payment. Never happened in any hotel. Aside from the fact that we paid for a 4-star hotel and it had absolutely nothing of a 4-star, calling it 3 stars is a compliment. The only note of praise is for the restaurant, the waiter was an exquisite person.

A service disaster in a beautiful 5-star hotel

On June 5th, we were on the Nautalia Cultural Routes trip at this hotel; I must say that the hotel was beautiful and 5-star, but the service and staff attention were abysmal. In most of the rooms, the sheets were dirty; after complaining and waiting more than an hour, they changed their rooms, and more sheets were not only dirty but also stained with blood. This happened to about 10 people in the group; there were 37 of us. At dinner, we had water included, but when asking for beer, wine, or soft drinks, they told us all that they could not give us anything, not even if we paid for it. In short, a service disaster. On the return trip, we did not go back to this hotel, and they took us to the Hilton, which was very good, clean, and without problems.

If I had known.

Do not go to the pool; it is dangerous. If you enter, you will not be able to get out; the ladder is made of pipes! The tiles surrounding it are slippery.
If you expect kindness from the employees, change hotels.
Little food. Too many stars, I take away at least two.
