Great location and friendly staff

Weingerghof Ilkerl is a working family wine farm, with a small heurigen and pension. The room was clean and spacious, and the property was not difficult to find, just a little upstream in the Krems valley above Krems an der Donau. The owner was very friendly, spoke English, and even agreed to run a small bag of laundry for me, a real lifesaver, since I couldn't find any laundromats.

Nice B&B a short walk from Krems

We stayed at the Weinberghof Ilkerl B&B in early May. Let me say the accommodations were very nice, clean and complete. The hostess was very helpful and made us comfortable. Breakfast was a limited continental arrangement but adequate.
The B&B is located perhaps 3 km from Krems, up a small tributary of the Danube. The walk to town followed the stream. Nice walk, but the B&B is out of town. Bus service is available.
All in all, a nice stay. Better if traveling by car.

simply superb

We give 5 rating only because there is not a 6! Gudrun and her family looked after us superbly. The rooms are clean and airey, the food fantastic, the picnic we had would have fed an army, and we had as very interesting trip around the vineyards and the local area. The town of Krems is a short drive away and is full of interest.

Nice wineyard

We visited Ilkerl during their Heuriger period, meaning that the afternoons and evenings where opend for guest - and there were a lot of them! We took the chance to taste all of the wineyards wines, and they are acutally very nice. The appartents are also quite nice - large and clean with good internt connection. The service is - as almost always in Austria - good and the family do their utmost to make the guests feel at home.

Quiet B&B at a winery

A quiet B&B in Rehberg, about 4 km outside Krems. Good quality/price ratio and being a wine producer an interesting spot for wine lovers. Good bed, good shower and good breakfast buffet, very friendly family. Free wifi.
Nice walks are possible on both sides of the river (if you do not mind walking uphill). In October there are plenty of grapes left to taste the different varieties.
We enjoyed watching the wine pressing process and visiting the 280 year old wine cellar. The one month old Gruner Veltliner was surprisingly tastful.
